PASSION PARADIGM IS THE NEW FASHION
India is a country to witness carnival life and
cultures that are embraced by its inhabitants which requires abundant
processions inside to proliferate your pockets to afford everything and make
life easier and find a position to sustain with it. In this fierce, merciless
and the fast growing contemporary times, a man needs to run and mint money for
his life to be at ease and serene in the midst of paradoxical complications and
diverse beliefs. The toil might include ball games where you battle resistance
from your loved ones and embark on a soul searching journey to get anchored
with an appropriate work to upgrade the position and set forth the plan of
action for survival.
Have you ever had a conversation with those who sells
food in the streets? They would tend to break their backs for a loaf of bread and
feed their family. They would save the money they earned from the business,
wake up early each day, run to the markets to get the necessary items for their
stalls, and start grooving. There are people who does all these for generations
and they being a part of the changes and innovations brought in the society
still continue with the same business for years that’s been initiated by their
forefathers. What if they had other fascinations other than running the
business unabated? Can they step down and divert their paths in the name of passion
and persist to survive?
Most of us have had our parents, friends, colleagues, teachers, relatives, peers and everyone else you meet possibly bragging about working towards and for your passion. In fact, this has become a fashion statement in the name of advice or a suggestion that anyone can spill over anywhere and to anyone as they wish. If you ask someone why they’d quit a job, the quickest and a conventional reply you get would include anything similar to “passion”. For instance, a teacher is expected to avail oneself of passion towards the subject and bring it into play in order to inculcate the interest and inquisitiveness among the students to learn about things that are happening around. Ironically, the world is in the dire need of participants to perform a balanced work in all the fields equally to escape the employability gap which is present and is being neglected in the name of novel and modern establishments in this modern era. Although passion is believed to be coupled with the social identity which is branched out from individuality it does hamper in between with the routine work, this belief of running towards passion may create imbalances and may rupture the overall productivity of a nation. Another similar notion that is getting ingrained is to love the work which we do by the same set of people who hyped the opinions of passion paradigm in the society among those who are still paralyzed and unmindful about their passions and the best time to go for it. This customary and a habitual advice may not work for all, because it is also one of the major factor for the financial constraints of educational debts and also the alarming rates of unemployment during this time of the pandemic. This ideology is sceptical until the passion quotient is blamed rather than any other factor for the worker‘s unhappiness in a workplace. They might quote this synonymous to the effects of stress that might have caused by doing the work which you may not really love or feel passionate about by eliminating or forgetting to find out the “real” reasons for the inattentiveness or the scattered interest in the work you already pursue. This idea has also prompted the employers to hire on the basis of passion by asking how passionate they are towards working in the particular company and for the job.
As a result, this drives the applicants who may still be irresolute and diffident to falsely claim the known attractive job as their passionate work. The problem might not have been with you, but with the work place which if you’d had given some time to find out to rectify. This unsettled focus towards passion might also become obsessive and might still affect the stress quotient which was formerly hinted at as the reason to quit a job that was termed to be “boring” and not on the terms with your “passion” and as some research says that it would bring devastating effects like physical and emotional exhaustion.
This article is intended to be piquant and to not
demean the concept of passion but to seed in a quest in oneself on what if your
passion is undiscovered and even so if its hinged what to do if it is gone and
fades away and stops the adrenaline rush and the excitement in you anymore. Be ingenious
and wise with your decisions.
Such a nice article!✨
ReplyDeleteAs you have said about the people who sell food in the street, I've heard of many stories of the people who do it with passion. Recently I saw a video interview of a man who's job is selling newspapers. He clearly says, "Even though I don't get more profit in this business, I remain happy. I do this work with passion and I can't leave it." Here is the link of that video, just check it out.

There are people who follow their passion just because it keeps them happy , unconsidering the point, whether it pays well or not, but it always pays a decent amount.
